In August we are dedicating the month to the raising of vocations in the Diocese of Adelaide – vocations to lay and ordained leadership ministry in our churches and Anglican communities.
All leaders are asked to listen and look carefully around at those who might be waiting to be asked if God is calling them. You are asked to promote Vocations Month in the following ways:
Intentional prayers in the worshipping community for vocations.
Invite a member of St Barnabas College to preach/speak on a Sunday in August. The Principal the Rev’d Dr Joan Riley, the Coordinator of Ministry Discernment and Formation the Rev’d Margaret Peel-Shakespeare, and the Coordinator of Education Programs Ms Caralyn Lammas are all available to come to your church for worship and to preach or speak.
Encourage potential leaders to attend Enquirer’s Day at St Barnabas College on Saturday 31 August, 9 am – 12 pm and listen to a range of speakers, including the Archbishop of Adelaide, recent graduates of the College, senior priests, and lay leaders, finishing up with lunch together.
If you would like a preacher/speaker during August, or to register for Enquirer’s Day, or for more information please contact Ms Maria Harrison at registrar@sbc.edu.au or Rev’d Dr Joan Riley principal@sbc.edu.au
