In this course, we will explore ideas from Ignatian Spirituality. We will use the Examen, or Review of the
Day, each week to begin our exploration of finding God in our everyday lives. We will spend time with
methods of prayer that use scripture, particularly stories of Jesus found in the Gospels, such as lectio
divina and imaginative prayer. We will ponder the question that Jesus asked Blind Bartimaeus, “What do
you want me to do for you?”, finding there a rich source of nurture for our lives of prayer. We will look at
Ignatian ways of reflecting on decisions that we need to make in everyday life and at times when
profound discernment is needed. We will also explore ways of praying for others; intercessory prayer.
