Archbishop’s Certificate Module 1 – Lay Leader’s Toolbox

This module supports lay leaders across the diocese in developing skills for leading non‑Eucharistic worship, reading Scripture, crafting and leading intercessions, preaching, and using microphones and AV systems. It also introduces parish governance, including chairing meetings and facilitating effective group decision‑making.

This module is for lay leaders throughout the diocese who want to learn:
• leading Morning and Evening Prayer and other non-Eucharist worship.
• reading from the Bible and speaking aloud, writing and reading intercessions, and using a
microphone and an AV system.
• how parish governance works, chairing meetings and facilitating group decision-making.
• preaching the Gospel and generally.
