Rev Dr Gethzi Devasagayam is an ordained priest from the church of South India and has contributed to the life and work of the Church in India and Australia for the
past 25 years.
She moved to Adelaide in 2005 to pursue theological education. Through Flinders University, she completed her Masters and Doctoral studies in the field of Old Testament.
Gethzi has been teaching as an adjunct lecturer since 2012, primarily the Old Testament subjects which include: Introduction to the Old Testament, the Pentateuch, Prophets, and Wisdom Literature with the focus on contextual and contemporary analysis and interpretation.
Integrating the lived experiences of people from diverse cultures, and insights gained from reading and different understandings are integral to her teaching.
Promotion of Christian core values like love, justice, peace, and fullness of life as promised by Jesus are central to the learning and reading of the Old Testament texts and their application to missional contexts.
